Tagore’s Ashrama – This is a well-curated museum, where, you will find everything related to Tagore. This was founded in 1863 by Tagore’s father,Maharishi Devendranath Tagore. The primary purpose of the ashram was to spread ‘Brahmo Dharma’, a cult started in the late nineteenth century.
Timings:
Winters: 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM,
Summers: 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM,
Remains closed on Wednesdays.

Amar Kutir -This is a shopin Ballavpur, Bolpur, where you will find products from cottage industries throughout the year.
Timings: From 8 AM to 6 PM

Sonajhuri Haat (Khoai Mela) -This is a weekly bazaar held on Saturdays only. Local artists and artisans sell their products like handicrafts, trinkets, household items, home-made local products etc.
Timings: Saturday 12 noon – 6 pm

Rabindra Bhaban Museum– Is one of the best places to know about Tagore. You will find Tagore’s original manuscripts, letters, documents, paintings, certificates and photographs. This is a must visit place.

Brahma Mandir-This is a Brahma temple and a peaceful meditation spot

Nippon Bhavan– This is a study and cultural exchange place for Japanese and Indo-Japanese

Sriniketan -Mainly focuses on the economic and rural development and a beautiful place to explore

Srijani Shilpa Gram -This place mainly showcases the rural life the people living in Birbhum, the Santali culture, local art and
craft.

Uttarayan Complex– This is one of the most fascinating places in Shantiniketan. This includes a meditation hall, Tagore’s museum, prayer hall, etc. Each building complex is built in a distinctive architectural style.

Banalakshmi– This is a center of small cottage industry. Various item like honey, squash, hand-crafted item are sold here. This is one of the best places to try Bengali cuisine. The Choupahari sal forests start from here.

Chhatimtala– This was the meditation spot of Debendranath Tagore. Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore started to teach students under this tree. The student who graduates from Vishwa Bharti is rewarded with a branch of this tree to remind them of the root.

Kankalitala– This is a temple of goddess Kali, believed to be one of the famous Shaktipeeth.

Ballavpur Wildlife Sanctuary– Here you can spot hundreds of migratory birds, cheethals, blackbucks and other animals. Winter is the best
time to visit this place.
